Our House Reno Ideas

So last Tuesday we spent part of our evening brainstorming and drawing out options for our house!  We have 3 small bedrooms in our house, 2 that are side by side, one being the master bedroom, the other a second bedroom!  As I mentioned here, most of our walls are lath and plaster, so we are looking at different options!

My initial thoughts were to do the wall paper thing, and we haven't ruled that out, but we've had an idea that we both like better....To just rip out the lath and plaster and redo it with drywall. 

Yes, it will be lots of work, and very messy, but we're up for the challenge!  Since we would be doing some ripping out, Everett had the idea of ripping out the wall separating the bedrooms, and making a master suite!  I love this idea!  Having our own bathroom, a big walk in closet, and some more space in the bedroom are ideas that are always welcomed! 

So here is a drawing of the current space, we don't have possession yet, so this will have to do until we snap some actual pics. 

Each room currently has a very deep, narrow closet, that doesn't seem to be a very efficient use of space.  To be completely honest, I don't think my drawing is to scale, but this is what we're going with for now, to give you an idea.  The funny triangles are supposed to represent the doors and which way they swing, hopefully it makes sense to you!

We've been talking to a few people, listening to their ideas and wisdom, which has been great!  It has also reaffirmed some of our own ideas, and given us some new ones!  Since we still have 3 weeks till possession, meaning 3 weeks to change our mind/revamp things, we will see what happens, but for now we are both really excited about this idea!  Time to price this whole thing out as much as we can!  I think that will be a huge determining factor on what actually happens, but it is fun to dream!
