The trees are...

leafing...leaving...growing leaves!  I don't know what you call that!  But either way, I love it!  Driving through the valley on Monday I noticed that somehow over the weekend some of the trees are turning green!  So lush and bright!  It's great, I love wonderful spring weather!

Babies and weddings!

So today I received a phone call from my friend from BC saying they had a baby girl!  Very very excited!  She's absolutely gorgeous!  I can't wait to meet her!

We also were at my friend Randy and Michelle's wedding today!  Boy, she was gorgeous!  The wedding was really great, beautiful and not long or boring!

I'm BACK!!

Late last night I landed back at home :)  I had such an amazing holiday, seeing new sights, visiting with old friends and now it's great to be home!

I am planning on posting some pictures, but I'm in the process of trying to retrieve some of them :(  Well I should say my wonderful boyfriend is trying to retrieve them.  I thought I burned my pics from Calgary/High River onto some disks so I deleted them (my card was full), and now the disks are blank :(

So for now, here's a pic to give you a little taste!  Melissa and I at the Vancouver Aquarium!

Snow snow snow :(

Well, Alberta threw me for a loop!  Right now there is a bit of snow on the ground!  It's been there since Monday!  The weather has been cold/cloudy/dreary and a bit snowy for most of my time here!  But, today I'm flying to Abbotsford and I'm hoping that I can bask in the sunshine and warmth for at least a bit of my time!

I have been taking pictures!  But I plan on posting them once I am back at home!  But there are definitely some pics to look forward too!

Toodles!

Today the travelling adventure begins :)

Yipee!  I can't wait!  Tonight, Lord willing, I will be in Calgary!  Woot woot!  Hopefully I didn't over pack too much!  Hehe, I tend to do that when I'm rushed!

Last night we had our Altona Fundraising Banquet!  I was quite surprised to see it as full as it was!  I'd say almost every table was full, and some over flowing!  Such a huge blessing!  We also raised a good amount of money, Praise the Lord!!

So I may or may not have time to blog, so enjoy the 12ish days!  Adios!

The quilt is FINISHED...

Well, mostly!  I still need to stitch on a few buttons and do the actual quilting, but that won't take too long, and I can work on that when I'm in Calgary!  So that's really a big relief!  Today was my last day to work on it and it was complete at 9:14pm!  I took pictures, but they are on my laptop at home, so you'll have to wait till I'm back from my vacation to see them!

Holidays!

April 9-20!  I'm super excited because I get to visit some of my good friends!  The first two live in High River, AB!  I met them at Capernwray Bible School '06-'07.  We became great friends, and after school the 3 of us travelled southern England and Northern France together!  Actually they were one of the first people I talked to when I arrived in England, and right away we hit it off!  I haven't seen these ladies since then, despite my wanting to see them, so I'm very excited for this opportunity to spend some quality time reconnecting and seeing their hometown!  I will be with them till Wed, April 14th, when I fly to Abbotsford BC.

Another one of my amazing friends is one I worked with at camp!  (The camp I'm still working at, PVBC, visit us at www.pembinavalleybiblecamp.com)  We have some wonderful/embarrassing/funny memories together as we worked together for 3 years and did some travelling together as well!  Sept '08 she moved to BC to be closer to her boyfriend, which was sad to see her go, but I understand!  Then last May she got married here in MB and now they are expecting a baby in 2 weeks!  Yipee!  I couldn't be more excited for them!  And, I also couldn't be more excited to be able to spend time with them!  I have never been to BC, so I'm also looking forward to seeing the beautiful province they call home!

So now I need to start packing and getting ready for my westward adventures, so any crafts I was wanting to accomplish will be put on hold, with the exception of the baby quilt, that one's coming with me!

Not always productive...

That's me!  There are times/days when things work out well and get done, and then, others when they don't.  I didn't work on my quilt this weekend, but I was able to spend some quality time with my love and his family.  We did get some good shopping in on Saturday!  Finally got new runners, and boy am I ever satisfied!  Keen shoes are amazing!  I've been shopping online and found quite a few pairs I may be purchasing in the next while, but for now, these are mine!

My parsley is up and my spearmint looks like it's growing now!  No thyme though, I may have to replant, but eh, 4 out of 5 plants isn't so bad!  Hopefully I can get some dirt soon and plant the rest of my seeds!

My first quilt!

So, lately I've been more into sewing!  Since I brought my sewing machine here and made my sewing nook I've been more inspired, and had more time!  So about 2 weeks ago I started on a baby quilt for one of my close friends!  They don't know the gender the baby and since it is their first I figured I would go with "gender neutral" colours/themes!  I'm very excited about this quilt, being my first one.  It also has a lot of hand sewing details which makes it easy to take along almost anywhere to work on!  I'm finished almost all the hand sewing, hopefully I can finish that up tonight/tomorrow and then it's just sewing the squares together and finishing touches!  Here's a picture of the pattern I'm using!  I am hoping to take some pictures this weekend of mine and will have them posted asap!

My love of old houses!

They are absolutely wonderful!  Old houses!  Big 2 or 2.5 story houses built in the late 1800's or early 1900's.  Hardwood floors, verandas, transom windows, wide baseboards and trim... I would love to own one!  This is my latest victim!  But of course, I'm not even looking for a house, nor could I afford one, but alas, I can dream!
