Engagement Photoshoot Time
Hopefully it goes good! I'm really looking forward to it! We are having one of my friends shoot our engagement pics! She's really good at it seeing as she is still in high school! I may post some later! But first, it's off to Church!

Everything falling into place...
Well, I thought I'd update you on the crazy times of my life right now!
Thursday Oct 14
Monday Oct 18
Thursday Oct 14
- Everett applies at a job in Morden
- Everett proposes and we get engaged :D
- Call to book an appt to look at a house
- We go look at the house and love it! Then we look at a few more and didn't really like them!
- Only problem is that someone has already put an offer in on the house that is subject to them selling their current house, so we have competition.
- Started the guest list
- Decided who we wanted as our attendants - 3 each!
Monday Oct 18
- Everett had a job interview that went quite well, but they were going to call him back.
- I met with 2 of my girls and asked them and they said yes!
- Researched some photographers and did lots of other brainstorming, trying to figure out dates for wedding etc.
- Book appt to look at the house again
- Ev gets the call - HE HAS THE JOB - starts in 2 weeks :)
- We meet both of our credit unions to talk about mortgages and pre-approval - we get pre-approved at both places
- Pick a photographer and contact her
- Go to look at the cute house again with my parents - they thought it was good, a small starter home
- We decide to put in an offer on the house that night, we go $5,000 less then the listing price, hoping that will work! Subject to nothing.
- Offer gets accepted as is! Yipee! But now we have to wait 48 hrs from the time that the other couples realtor gets a hold of them!
- 48 hr countdown begins at 11:15am
- Confirm date - Feb 26
- Booked the ceremony and reception location
- Booked the Pastor
- Photographer is mostly in - just waiting for confirmation
- Talked to my other bridesmaid and she said yes
- We get the call at 11:15am - WE GOT THE HOUSE! Possession Dec 6th.
- Did lots more brainstorming
- Looked/brainstormed different centrepiece options and flowers.
- Looked at tux ideas and our options, which in some ways were a bit disappointing
- Start trying to brainstorm where Everett will sleep/live until house possession since he starts his job Nov 8 :S
- Decided on bridesmaid dress style
- Decided we be having the dresses sewn
- Went to the fabric store, and after searching and searching, finally found "the perfect" fabric, on sale, the right colour, the right kind of fabric!!
- But...they didn't have enough for all 3 girls :(
- Met with all 3 girls and they are all for the dress style, fabric, and having them sewn :)
- Met with the caterer to discuss plans and that was really good!
- Called various other fabric stores to see if they had some more fabric, all I got was put on hold, hung up on or a busy signal :(
- Talked a bit about honeymoon destinations
- Booked my hair appt, trial, and a hair cut for next week :)
- Finally my mom got a hold of the other fabric stores (bless her) and one has some fabric, hopefully it's the right stuff!
- Picked a lawyer and informed everyone that needed to know
- Booked appt with our bank
- Talked more with our engagement picture photographer and we are mostly set to go
- Brainstormed picture outfits!

Busy busy busy
The reason I haven't posted any blogs the last few days is:
More details to come, once I've had some time to arrange the details! But, in the mean time, here's a picture of the gorgeous ring I'm wearing on my finger! :D

Pumpkin Brulee
So we tried something new, Pumpkin Brulee. I have never made any kind of Brulee before, but it was actually easy and boy was that tasty! Last year I tried making pumpkin flan and it was a bit of a nightmare, so I was hoping this wouldn't turn out the same and I was happily surprised! The recipe is at the bottom of the post! Enjoy!
Pumpkin Brulee
Makes 8 servings
1 can (15oz) solid-pack pumpkin
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt
2 omega-3 enriched eggs
1 cup fat-free evaporated milk
2 Tbsp turbinado sugar
1 Tbsp orange zest (not the bath soap)
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Coat eight 4oz ramekins with cooking spray, and set aside.
2. Combine pumpkin and brown sugar in a large bowl. Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Stir until well combined. Add eggs and milk, and mix until thoroughly combined. Divide pumpkin mixture equally among ramekins.
3. Arrange ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 30min. Remove from oven and sprinkle 3/4 teaspoon turbinado sugar over each dish. Broil for 2-4min, until sugar melts. Serve warm. Garnish with orange zest.

Starbucks + Pumpkin spice = Aaaaaamazing
So like many people out there, I love Starbucks! I also really love Pumpkin things, as I've mentioned before! Last year I ordered pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks every chance I had! This year, I'm mixing it up!
During the warm summer months I often enjoy their Green Tea Frapps, and a few weeks back my boyfriend took me to Starbucks. Well it was a warm day, but the Pumpkin Spice was back, so I had a bit of a dilema, and asked if I could have a PUMPKIN SPICE FRAPP!!! They said yes! There's a new beverage in town! :)
Roller blading.....to Church :P
I did it! I roller bladed! haha! I have been wanting to get back on my roller blades for quite some time, (years actually) but always chickened out, or made up some excuse. So Sunday I suggested that me and my boyfriend walk to church, it's only a few blocks from his house, and he suggested we roller blade! Well, opposed to my belief, I didn't fall, or die, I made it to church...and back without falling once!! This was quite the feat! So, hopefully we can do some more roller blading before the snow flies! :)

Pumpkin Waffles!
YUMMMM! You must try this recipe! It's so good! We made them on Monday for brunch! (I took the pics with my phone so they aren't the greatest)
I made Spiced Waffle Sauce instead of Spiced Whipped Cream because my boyfriend's family
loves my waffle sauce, although Spiced Whipped Cream would also be delicious!!
Pumpkin Waffle Batter
The final product!
I used the recipe for Pumpkin Waffles with Spiced Whipped Cream from The Women Living Well Blog. Click here for the recipe.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope your Thanksgiving long weekend is filled with family, friends, food and thankfulness! I challenge you too try to spend the whole weekend being thankful. List all the things that you are thankful for! Write them down to remind you whenever you feel grumpy! We have so much that we take for granted.
Psalm 69:30 (NIV) I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.
Psalm 100:4 (NIV) Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

My Bike
So I finally brought my bike to where I live/work back in the last week of August. I've been wanting to do that for 2 years :P So I've been trying to do some more biking lately, which hasn't been the most successful! I do bike to work now which is a short ride but fun! Here's my trusty bike that I got when I was in Jr. High!
I've been thinking of buying/making (or rather my dad or boyfriend making) myself a stand so I can bike inside during winter. They have these ones from Mountain Equipment Co-op that are really good, my sister has one! But I'm not really in a place to pay $240 for one, so maybe I'll try finding one somewhere used! I also found this one at Canadian Tire now on sale for $150. Any advice?

My Fall Pictures
Here are some pictures from a few days ago. It finally worked to upload them! They aren't spectacular, but not too bad! Man I am sure enjoying the warmer fall weather we've been having! Today it's 23 degrees celsius (74 fahrenheit) outside! I can't believe it! I hope it stays warm for a bit yet! I've got a whole bunch of outdoorsy activities planned for the long weekend!
Quilt brainstorming
I have two quilts that I am trying to brainstorm for, the first a baby quilt and the second a quilt for myself.
Firstly and most importantly I am going to concentrate on the baby quilt, as my friends baby is due to arrive any day now! I made this baby quilt back in March/April, and I have quite a bit of left over fabric, so I'm thinking of using the fabric, but I'm unsure of which pattern to make. Some beautiful ideas are:
And then last night as I was laying there thinking..thinking..thinking some more...and then some more thinking, I just couldn't turn my brain off, I thought to myself, I could do some simple squares with scripture references on them, referring to a word that describes us as God's children, eg/ Loved ~ John 3:16 or something along those lines. So then I was trying to come up with words and references, and I found some, but I need to do some more digging/brainstorming. I like the idea, but I'm not quite sure!
I also have some really cute animal ideas that I've seen on some blogs, like this:

I was reminded of these when I read Katie's blog, The Bright Life. She posted this super cute owl/squirrel bookends pic.

How cute! I went to the etsy site and found all sorts of inspiring little creatures! So now I'm back to loving that idea! I just don't have much time, so I'm hesitant about taking on such a big project with such little amount of time! We'll see what I come up with!
Missing my freckles!
I watched the movie Marley and Me with a friend on the weekend, such a great movie! But now I miss my pups, she died this summer! The first picture was last winter, us being silly together!!
