Weekend update

So I shared a bit of what my weekend was supposed to look like.  Click here to go back if you missed it.

  1. Bring in Rings for sizing/diamond bond check up - Well we actually went and talked to them!  Turns out my ring is currently size 7 and I need a 4.5 and they can only size down or up 2 sizes, so they are ordering me new ones!  It's kind of nice because I get to wear this one till my new one comes in, so I don't have to part with it for sizing!
  2. Look online for some barstools/dining room chairs - we looked online, but realized we don't know how tall the counter actually is, because it's not a raised one, so we'll have to wait until possession (Monday) before we can measure!
  3. Research honeymoon places/flights - We actually did this too!  We found some flights that were a bit more then I'd like to pay, but then again we also found ones that were twice the amount, so we may just go for those.
  4. Berries from Michaels - They only had 1 bunch and I needed 3 :(  But maybe we can make due!
  5. Order tuxes and get Ev measured - We haven't gotten to this yet, or anything further down the list, but at least we did get some thing done!
  6. Sally's Beauty Supply - buy wax
  7. Walmart - ribbon
  8. Marks Work Wearhouse - I need to replace those socks that got tossed
  9. Boots for wedding day (and winter in general)
  10. Shoes for wedding day
  11. Jewellery for wedding
We did something that wasn't on the list!  We bought Everett's wedding ring!  He absolutely loves it and I think it suits him!  Tungsten Carbide!  Dark!  Thick band!

And my Pampered Chef party was AMAZING!  It was super fun!  Great to see all the people who came out for it!  I am always blown away by all of the nifty and sweet things Pampered Chef makes!  So I wrote down a list on scrap paper of all the things I wanted, and then I was going to narrow it down, but we totalled it, and it wasn't far off from what I was able to spend!  WOOOT!  So, the rep is going to go over it and get back to me, but I'm stoked!  So much amazing pampered chef that will be in our kitchen!!

You should visit their website and check out what they have, it's amazing!

Closet Door Ideas

So initially we were thinking pocket doors into our walk in closet and master bath. Click here for diagram!  Then, I was watching 500 Days of Summer the other day and I noticed the french doors in Summer's room and then the light bulb went on - we could do that for our closet doors.  Here are the best 2 pics I could find!

I also love this idea that McKenzie posted, gorgeous yellow sliding barn door!

Then there's also the whole door frame with a curtain in it idea.  Originally that was the idea I had to solve our kitchen pantry door dilema.  Part of our reno ideas is to put in a kitchen pantry, which we are both super thrilled about. I am starting to think we could do that for the closet door idea too!  Ideas ideas ideas!  :) I love dreaming about our house!

Address labels

I was thinking about when I'm married and how neat it would be to have address labels or stamps with our names and of course, our address.  Stickers would be nice because then I don't have to worry about ink, and then if I have things already labelled I can put the new sticker over top, ex my cheques.  Although ink stamps have a bit of a romantic old charm to them in my head.

Have any of you ever ordered any custom stamps or labels?  If you have, do you mind sharing where you ordered them and any feedback!  Or even if you haven't ever ordered any but know of a good website, or fellow bloggers who have written about this topic!

Thanks and have a marvelous day!

:)

Kittens

Truth be told, I am not the biggest fan of cats!  I do however love Kittens!  I think all cats should stay kittens their whole lives!

These two pics was taken a few years back, of me with my kitty Bullet.

Growing up on a farm, we've almost always had cats!  Ranging from super tame to super wild!  Recently, one of our tame cats had 3 kittens, but they weren't very tame.

Since Everett was going to be moving out, we thought we should give his mom a kitten, to "replace" Everett!  So we managed to catch one of these kittens and bring it to Ev's parents house.

Here are some pictures of Tigger, in his new home!  Cell phone pics, sorry!

There's definitely something odd about that Kleenex box!

Haha, I love this one!  He's so fun, full of energy and cuteness!

By the way, he is completely spoiled and dotted on!  Mission "replace Everett" complete!!

Our House

So here's a picture of our cute humble abode.  It doesn't look like that currently, because of all the snow, but it's the only picture I have until we get possession!   10 Sleeps :)

More and more

So I posted pictures this morning of the snow, and at lunch time I couldn't believe how much more there was, so here's the proof!
 Last night
At lunch time

Going through my clothes

I LOVE shopping!  As a result, in years past I have spent a lot of money on clothes!  I also find it really hard to get rid of clothes that still fit me, even if I don't wear them, because I might one day!  aka I horde clothes :(  A few years back I gave a bunch of clothes to one of my best friends younger sisters!  It was a lot easier for me to give clothes to her, and it was actually fun!

Yesterday my mom asked me if I wanted to go through my clothes and pull out things that don't fit me, or I would like to get rid of!  One of my older cousins has 4 daughters and the oldest one is in Junior high I think! She was planning on coming to look at clothes from me and my sisters!

So last night I went through a bunch that I had at my parents house!  A good sized pile accumulated, much to my surprise!  Once again, it felt good to give the clothes away and I realized I need to do that more often, or make it a yearly thing!!   This actually comes at a good time too, because I know that I need to thin out my wardrobe a bit before I get married and SCARE Everett with ALL MY STUFF!

Tonights mission is to go through the clothes that I have here at camp!!  Oh and I need to tackle a pile of dishes!  And relax, maybe watch a movie, or do some crafts!

    Pantry Door

In the reno diagram I made earlier, I didn't include a lot of details, because I was going for the general layout.  Now I drafted up a bit more detail.

So as you can see the beautiful green area will be shelves that are 12" deep going around the whole pantry.  Yipee!  Lots of storage room!  The pantry will be 3' front to back by 10' side to side.  Now I'm not sure how wide the current door is, but most doors are around 30"-36" if I am correct.  Meaning that our door won't work.  So the 2 solutions that we brainstormed right away are:
    1. See if we can make the door swing out (I have no idea if this will even work with the current door)
    2. Make it a pocket door (which takes precious pantry space away)
Then as I was falling asleep I had a great idea.  We could have it framed for a door, but hang a curtain instead of an actual door.  I really like that idea the best!  So I told Ev about it and he seemed to think that would also work!

Now as for what we'll actually do, it's to be determined.  I can't wait till we actually have possession so we can go measure things, and get started!  13 sleeps :)

    Quote

I found this quote a while back and forgot to post it, but it's always a great reminder!  Through my church we always receive the Our Daily Bread Devotional.  They are always encouraging or convicting, but often times my devo doesn't make it from my purse (where I put it in church) to my Bible at home, and it just sits in my purse till I clean it out.  Now I think I've come up with a solution, I signed up for it to be sent to my e-mail!  They have all sorts of different options if you want to receive it yourself! Click here for their website.  This quote is from Our Daily Bread.

"Contentment comes when we want GOD's will more than our own way!"

    Some amazing entrance ideas

So I've been trying to find some great paint colours, decorations, furniture ideas etc for our house, and here are some of my finds!  These are all from Black and White {Side by Side}.  She has such great taste!

I love the stark contrast and the beautiful style of it!
