8 weeks

Baah!  Only 8 weeks till the wedding!  We've been so busy thinking about Christmas and our house renos that the wedding has totally taken the back seat!  I just realized it's only 8 weeks!  I knew it was only 2 months, but for some reason 8 weeks sounds like so much less time then 2 months!

So I need to get back on the wedding planning train of thought!  So my goal for today is to make a list and prioritize so that I can be efficient with my time and allow people to help me with various things!

I'm so excited :D

Green green green

Here are some pics of our bright green bathroom.  It was freshly renovated when we got possession which was amazing!  New sink, new toilet, new bathtub, fresh paint, new light fixture, new flooring and new towel rod and toilet paper holder.  As you can see, there's just a teeny tiny cabinet under the sink for storage which is a problem!

Here's the beautiful shelf that Ev put up to help solve the problem.
He is still planning on trimming the edges by the mirror so that it doesn't stick over.  I'm trying to think of a way to make it look better, maybe paint the shelves white, or wall paper them, or just get some nice baskets.  Any suggestions?

In the left side of this picture you can see the towel hanger ring thing that I installed :)

And the beautiful bathtub!  We have registered for a lovely shower curtain, so hopefully someone decides to buy it for us!  For now I just bought a liner, which is a 5th of the cost of even the cheapest curtain I found!  It does the trick, but I can't wait to have a pretty curtain!

Reno update

Wow, it's crazy how people spend so much time preparing for the Christmas season and just like that it's over.  It was very wonderful though!  I quite enjoyed the time I was able to spend with family and friends, and a break from work!

The past two days we have been really busy with more house renos.  Ev and I both had Monday and Tuesday off so we were able to accomplish quite a bit!  I realized that I have posted all of 2 pictures of our house, which is horrible of me, so here are some that were taken of the house while the previous owners were in it, but it will give you an idea of what some of it looks like.

Blue Room aka the Wolves Den (the wall paper boarder is wolves)

Living Room

So now you know what our house looked like before we moved our stuff in.  I will really try to post some pictures in the next few days of what it currently looks like.  We love our house and we are super excited about doing renos and making this house our home!

Honesty and Confessions

I have been a really bad blogger lately!  Sorry!  I apologize!  Life has been busy, and I am taking a bit of a vacation from blogging!  I don't think I will be around blog world for the next 2 weeks, so I thought I would tell you that so you know!

I do hope to:
  • Get lots of work done on our house
  • Spend lots of time relaxing and laughing with my family and Everett's family
  • Go sledding
  • Go skating
  • Sleep in
  • Sew something - I haven't decided what yet, but I want to sew something!
  • Hand out/mail the rest of the wedding invitations
  • Not eat toooo much
So, by the time 2 weeks is up I will also hopefully have a bunch of pictures and dreams to share with you!

Happy "season of the year when we celebrate the love of God coming to us in the form of a little baby boy"

Dreams

So I've been doing some dreaming about what I want our house to eventually look like.  I started making a huge long list of ideas/improvements/changes that I'd like to make!  Here are some pictures of my ideas and inspirations for our Master bedroom ceiling

Molding!  I was so excited when I saw this picture this morning, because it's very similar to what I've been thinking about eventually putting up in our master bedroom.

Chic-London-apartment-111_e_3594265457560d0a2022832e1722d72e.jpg

I also saw this the other day, and I like this idea as well!  Not quite as permanent as molding, but still gorgeous!

I apologize

Things have been crazy busy and I haven't been keeping up with my blog.  I've had my phone on me to take pictures with, but then forget to e-mail them to myself to upload!  So I will try to put them up this weekend, but it's a weekend filled with Christmas parties and gatherings.  I can't believe that Christmas is in just over a week!

Crazy Weekend

So this weekend was filled to the max!  I took a whole bunch of photos with my cell phone and I will post them, I promise, it's just been too crazy!  Here's a little peek!  Everett put up this shelving unit on Tuesday night!  We have very little storage in our bathroom, just a teeny area under the sink, so this is our immediate solution!  We are trying to brainstorm some more ideas and research!

These spray bottles are some of the best kind out there!  I tried to find them in the store the other day and couldn't find them!  So I remembered where they may have come from so I sent Ev on the hunt, but he didn't know what they looked like so I took a picture of the one I have at work! haha!  Oh the adventures!

I hope you are all had an amazing weekend!  Tonight my girlies(bridesmaids) are coming to see our house, and we'll be working on invites :D  Have a great evening!

Tackling my lists

So I managed to get some of the things stroked off my list!
  • Finalize invitation wording/format
  • Figure out response cards/registry info
  • Print Invitations, response cards etc
  • Plan an invitation assembly party for next week and inform the troops
  • Make a rough time-line for the day of our wedding
  • E-mail photographer - pictures of my ideas, location ideas and a rough time-line
  • Go to the post office and get a mail box :) (We are supposed to go back towards the end of this week and they should have one for us then!)
  • Start change of address forms for Ev
  • Christmas gifts - I need to wrap the ones I have, and make a list of ones to buy/make
So I'm going to try to tackle some more things this week!

2 Sleeps!!!

Till we get OUR HOUSE!!  Hoooray!  Everett is moving in on Monday, and I will be joining him after the wedding!  I can't wait to just get in there and have it!

We bought the house Oct 23, just 9 days after we got engaged!  It's been such an exciting time seeing God provide for us!  I also can't wait to take pictures of it so I can share them with YOU!

We hope to start renos shortly after moving in, so stay tuned for that!

Needing ideas!

I'm trying to find ideas for a cute (yet somewhat warm) going away outfit for as we leave our wedding!  Let me know if you find anything amazing!

Also trying to find some unique swim suit ideas for our honeymoon!  I'll try to take some pics of the fabric I bought a long time ago that I want to use!  I'm going for something quite covered, but cutesy or unique!

Anthro finds

As always, Anthropologie has some amazing clothes that I would love to get my hands on!

I want to try this idea sometime! Now I just need to find the right fabric!

I really love how cozy this sweater looks!  Love the green and the details in the back!  So feminine and beautiful!  I also love the pockets!

Flowy and beautiful!

Firstly, these stripes are adorable, and then with the ruffles and the diagonal stripes near the bottom!  Sigh!

This one is really neat!  I also like the colour!

Cozy but chick!
Warm but stylish

I wouldn't normally be drawn to this dress, but in this picture it looks so good!
Love the LBD!  I need to sew/buy myself one!
Love love love the lace!
I love all the layers, and how they don't all follow the same path!
I have always wanted a "military style" dress, this one is even more amazing then some I've previously found!

Made my day!

Last week Wednesday evening I received an amazing compliment!  Brittany from Little Ditties blog gave me the Stylish Blogger Award!!  Everett and I were at my parents house, putting my winter tires on my vehicle, and as soon as I read her comment, I squealed and immediately told Everett!  I am quite sure I had one of those huge cheesy smiles on my face!  Woot!

I love her write up, about feeling like no one reads her blog!  I feel the EXACT same way some days!  Thanks Brittany for sharing the love and making my day!

Weekend update

So I shared a bit of what my weekend was supposed to look like.  Click here to go back if you missed it.

  1. Bring in Rings for sizing/diamond bond check up - Well we actually went and talked to them!  Turns out my ring is currently size 7 and I need a 4.5 and they can only size down or up 2 sizes, so they are ordering me new ones!  It's kind of nice because I get to wear this one till my new one comes in, so I don't have to part with it for sizing!
  2. Look online for some barstools/dining room chairs - we looked online, but realized we don't know how tall the counter actually is, because it's not a raised one, so we'll have to wait until possession (Monday) before we can measure!
  3. Research honeymoon places/flights - We actually did this too!  We found some flights that were a bit more then I'd like to pay, but then again we also found ones that were twice the amount, so we may just go for those.
  4. Berries from Michaels - They only had 1 bunch and I needed 3 :(  But maybe we can make due!
  5. Order tuxes and get Ev measured - We haven't gotten to this yet, or anything further down the list, but at least we did get some thing done!
  6. Sally's Beauty Supply - buy wax
  7. Walmart - ribbon
  8. Marks Work Wearhouse - I need to replace those socks that got tossed
  9. Boots for wedding day (and winter in general)
  10. Shoes for wedding day
  11. Jewellery for wedding
We did something that wasn't on the list!  We bought Everett's wedding ring!  He absolutely loves it and I think it suits him!  Tungsten Carbide!  Dark!  Thick band!

And my Pampered Chef party was AMAZING!  It was super fun!  Great to see all the people who came out for it!  I am always blown away by all of the nifty and sweet things Pampered Chef makes!  So I wrote down a list on scrap paper of all the things I wanted, and then I was going to narrow it down, but we totalled it, and it wasn't far off from what I was able to spend!  WOOOT!  So, the rep is going to go over it and get back to me, but I'm stoked!  So much amazing pampered chef that will be in our kitchen!!

You should visit their website and check out what they have, it's amazing!

Closet Door Ideas

So initially we were thinking pocket doors into our walk in closet and master bath. Click here for diagram!  Then, I was watching 500 Days of Summer the other day and I noticed the french doors in Summer's room and then the light bulb went on - we could do that for our closet doors.  Here are the best 2 pics I could find!

I also love this idea that McKenzie posted, gorgeous yellow sliding barn door!

Then there's also the whole door frame with a curtain in it idea.  Originally that was the idea I had to solve our kitchen pantry door dilema.  Part of our reno ideas is to put in a kitchen pantry, which we are both super thrilled about. I am starting to think we could do that for the closet door idea too!  Ideas ideas ideas!  :) I love dreaming about our house!

Address labels

I was thinking about when I'm married and how neat it would be to have address labels or stamps with our names and of course, our address.  Stickers would be nice because then I don't have to worry about ink, and then if I have things already labelled I can put the new sticker over top, ex my cheques.  Although ink stamps have a bit of a romantic old charm to them in my head.

Have any of you ever ordered any custom stamps or labels?  If you have, do you mind sharing where you ordered them and any feedback!  Or even if you haven't ever ordered any but know of a good website, or fellow bloggers who have written about this topic!

Thanks and have a marvelous day!

:)

Kittens

Truth be told, I am not the biggest fan of cats!  I do however love Kittens!  I think all cats should stay kittens their whole lives!

These two pics was taken a few years back, of me with my kitty Bullet.

Growing up on a farm, we've almost always had cats!  Ranging from super tame to super wild!  Recently, one of our tame cats had 3 kittens, but they weren't very tame.

Since Everett was going to be moving out, we thought we should give his mom a kitten, to "replace" Everett!  So we managed to catch one of these kittens and bring it to Ev's parents house.

Here are some pictures of Tigger, in his new home!  Cell phone pics, sorry!

There's definitely something odd about that Kleenex box!

Haha, I love this one!  He's so fun, full of energy and cuteness!

By the way, he is completely spoiled and dotted on!  Mission "replace Everett" complete!!

So somehow I'm going to try to get some of the things on the list stroked off in between all the fun that's already planned for the weekend!

What are you up to this weekend?

Our House

So here's a picture of our cute humble abode.  It doesn't look like that currently, because of all the snow, but it's the only picture I have until we get possession!   10 Sleeps :)
